Background & Training

Originally from the Netherlands, Dr Sanders completed his surgical training in South Africa and has practised Cardiothoracic Surgery since 1997. He relocated to Australia in 2001 and worked as a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital for many years before commencing private practice in 2014 and transitioning to full-time private practice in 2023. He has undertaken advanced training in minimally invasive surgery at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York and Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles. Dr Sanders maintains an active commitment to professional development through regular visits to leading international medical centres.
